Henrythenavigator on for St James's Palace Stakes

The dual Guineas winner, Henrythenavigator, potentially one of the best milers of the last fifty years, will run in Royal Ascot's St James's Palace Stake - and he will be a short price in the betting.

Henrythenavigator was considered for the Derby over a mile and a half, but trainer Aidan O'Brien and his connections decided to keep the star colt to a mile. However the Derby did provide a boost for Henrythenavigator when the horse he conquered in both Guineas, New Approach, landed the Epsom prize.

Likely rivals to Henrythenavigator include David Elsworth's Stubbs Art (third at 100/1 in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and third again in the Irish 2000 Guineas) and also Winker Watson, who was unbeaten as a juvenile and who has been off the track through various minor setbacks. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Winker Watson has been set a stiff task on his seasonal debut in this Group 1 race.

Aidan O'Brien also runs hat-trick seeking Yeats in the Ascot Gold Cup. Yeats, the hero of the last two years will start a short-priced favourite in the Royal Ascot betting to do it again.

O'Brien's strong Royal Ascot raiding party will include Duke of Marmalade. The four-year-old colt cut the mustard in his last two runs, both Group 1 wins and Duke of Marmalade will be fancied to make it three in the Prince of Wales's Stakes.
