Golden Jubilee Stakes: Kingsgate Native wins

The 33/1 shot Kingsgate Native landed a star-studded Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Global sprint superstar Takeover Target was beaten into fourth behind the John-Best trained colt who had performed disappointingly only four days before in the King Stand Stakes.

Tipped by the Free Racing Tips website, Kingsgate Native appreciated the clearer run and extra furlong. This was the first time the son of stallion Mujadil had tackled six furlongs and he relished it.

Jimmy Quinn had ridden Kingsgate Native in the Kings Stand Stakes but he was jocked off in favour of joint champion jockey Seb Sanders, who has surely now secured the ride.

The former South African sprinter War Artist ran a blinder to fill runner-up spot while Sir Gerry, who won the Gimcrack as a two-year-old, was an honourable third.

Trainer John Best had already secured a massive priced winner this week when Flashmans Papers scored at 100/1 in the Windsor Castle Stakes. It is apparent that Best has no clue as to when his horses are fancied.
